Joseph writes delightfully scary stories to give kids courage to face the scary things in their own lives.
Joseph Brink fell in love with scary stories through books like Neil Gaiman's Coraline, Jonathan Stroud's Lockwood & Co, and Kenneth Oppel’s The Nest. He's always wished there were more books like these — stories that use delightfully scary elements and quirky characters to draw out powerful themes and point through the darkness to the light and beauty in our world.
Joseph has been writing uplifting, kid-friendly stories with darker or scarier elements for 9+ years and has been studying writing at a post-secondary level through the Author Conservatory for the past three years.
Joseph Brink's short story, What Lives Beneath the Skin, was published in the short story collection Voices of the Future: Stories of Adventure & Imagination in December of 2024.
